After the Youth Leadership Conference, many high school students become active leaders and empowered members of their community. These high school chapters work to raise awareness about hepatitis B, promote the ideals of the Jade Ribbon Campaign, and ultimately strive to better the health of the student body and the local community as it pertains to hepatitis B and liver cancer. Working with the Asian Liver Center and in conjunction with the Jade Ribbon Youth Council, high school chapters have been formed at many high schools in the Bay Area and some in other areas of the country, such as in Texas.
For the 2010-2011 school year, Team HBV High School Chapters is undergoing large structural changes, building the infrastructure and organization needed for Team HBV High School Chapters to create high impact for HBV outreach. Through collaboration with one another and the community, Team HBV High School Chapters intends to be model for health outreach at the high school level.
