Starting a New Chapter

1. Know The Process for Creating a Club at Your High School or University
Get to know your high school’s process for creating clubs (it varies). Most of the time, you need a teacher adviser and a preliminary group of officers. Get your club registered with the school as soon as possible, preferably before your school’s club day, as that is when you will recruit members. If you need a club constitution, a template can be found in the High School Manual.

2. Connect with Team HBV Collegiate Board or High School Board
Email the collegiate board or the high school board (chair.hsboard@teamhbv.org) to let them know that you will be starting a chapter. Set up a meeting with them to establish your goals and your timeline.

3. Request a Startup Kit from the Asian Liver Center (currently unavailable due to COVID-19)
Request your free Startup Kit from Asian Liver Center.  Please send in the request at least 3 weeks before needed, and confirm to mienas@stanford.edu after completing the form. The startup kit includes free shirts, stickers, balloons, and other merchandise to jump-start the club and help with the recruitment process.
Contact the high school board to receive your digital start-up kit!

4. Connect with Team HBV on Social Media
Add the Team HBV Chapter Facebook page and Discord! Follow the Team HBV Instagram! This is where we will be posting general Team HBV news, information, and updates, including events or important forms to fill out.
