Jen Yang was previously the 2010-2011 Outreach Adviser and the 2009-2010 Recruitment & Training Adviser for Team HBV Collegiate Chapters. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular & Cell Biology, emphasizing in Neurobiology, and a Minor in English. She currently works at the UCSD School of Medicine studying clinical therapies for Alzheimer’s Disease under Dr. Mark H. Tuszynski. In her free time, Jen enjoys being active, reading, baking, music, and catching up on TV shows.

Phillip was raised in the Bay Area where he graduated from Stanford University in 2009 with a degree in Human Biology. He completed a Masters in Public Health at Emory University in 2011 where he founded a Team HBV chapter and worked with undergraduates to promote HBV awareness both on campus and in the local community. Since then he has traveled to Beijing to work with the World Health Organization and will return to the US in the fall to begin medical studies.

Chelsea is a senior at Brown University, concentrating in Cell and Molecular Biology and Art History. Pursuing her interests in liver disease, she conducts research on hepatocellular carcinoma and founded Team HBV at Brown University. After collaborating with Asian community organizations in Providence, she became aware of the lack of understanding about HBV and the disconnect between patients and physicians. She is dedicated to Team HBV, which works to bridge these gaps. During her free time, she enjoys ballroom dancing, visiting museums, and sketching.

Gerry is a sophomore at UC Berkeley studying biology. At Cal, he teaches the Team HBV Decal and works with the chapter to spread awarenessabout hepatitis B. Generally if not studying he can be found in the library quietly dreaming about the future when our lawmakers create a concrete plan to tackle hepatitis B. Otherwise, he enjoys reading the newspaper, imagining himself as one of many squirrels and exploring his environment from the perspective of his little blue bicycle.

Andrew is a freshman at Stanford University who plans on studying Human Biology. During his free time he enjoys taking a walk under the brilliant California sun and participating in sports such as golf, swimming and taekwondo. Growing up in the Bay Area where its predominately Asian, he realized that many people in his community do not understand the dangers of viral Hepatitis B. He is passionate about Team HBV because it addresses this very issue that so deeply affects him.

Hamin Kim is a freshman at Stanford University. Her involvement with the Jade Ribbon Campaign began as a freshman in high school when she joined the health club that focuses on hepatitis B outreach. As a former member of the Jade Ribbon Youth Council, she sees the potential of young people to create lasting social change and loves working alongside high school and college students to spread awareness of hepatitis B. In her free time she likes reading, listening to music, and laughing with friends.
