Meeting 1/13/14, Info sessions, and Fundraisers!

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to winter quarter and Happy new years!
We will be having our first general meeting on Monday, January 13th at 7pm in Bunche 3156.

There will be two fundraisers this quarter! The dates are Jan 28th and Feb 12th from 10am – 4pm. More information and sign ups will be available during the meetings or you can email us at ucla@teamhbv.org to sign up.

Lastly, We will be having an info session for anyone interested in joining Team HBV at 6pm in Bunche 3156.

Dimsum and Boba Sale!

DIMSUM BOBA sale

If you’re deprived of good Asian treats, we’ve got your fix! Swing by Court of Sciences this coming Tuesday for our upcoming Dimsum/Boba Fundraiser.

You will be able to feast on the following:

Shu Mai
Har Gaw
Egg-custard Tart
Egg Roll
Pork Bun
Lollicup Boba

We will be selling on Tuesday November 19th from 11 am – 4pm

Earnings will contribute to transportation for Team HBV’s community outreach/screening events. Hope to see you guys there!

General Meeting 10/28

Hi everyone!

Thank to all those who came out to the training sessions this past week! I hope you all are now pros at Hepatitis B facts 🙂

Also, please ensure that you have completed the following membership requirements:

1. $10 Membership fee – If you have not yet paid the membership fee, please bring your payment to tomorrow’s general meeting

2. Team HBV tshirt – If you have already paid the membership fee and have not yet received your Team HBV tshirt, please email me with you name and tshirt size

3. HIPAA – In order for you to volunteer at health fairs and participate in our shadowing program, you need to have completed the HIPAA privacy and Information security training. You can find the online training here: http://hr.uclahealth.org/body.cfm?id=195
Please create a temporary ID, complete the training and pass the quiz, and send me a screen shot of the completion page.

Information for Performers!

If you are a performer and are interested in performing at our B Hep Free Concert during April or May of 2013, please reply back to our individual emails. If you did not get an email from us, please email ucla@teamhbv.org for more information about how you can participate.

The B Hep Free Concert is an annual event at UCLA, and includes education about the dangers of hepatitis B and liver cancer from medical speakers as well as entertainment from performances.

New Announcements Regarding New Members!

Hello Bruins! Here are some announcements for some important things regarding your membership with Team HBV!

1) Makeup Training: October 29, 6-7 PM @ Ackerman 3517

If you weren’t able to make it to our first training session, don’t fret! We will be having a make-up session on Monday! Hope to see you all there!

Training is required for all new and old members.

Please fill out this quiz after coming to training session!

3) HIPAA: http://hr.healthcare.ucla.edu/hipaa2/main.asp

All members must be HIPAA certified in order to attend our events and participate in our shadowing program.

4) Reminder that only active members will be able to participate in our shadowing program (2 events + 1 fundraiser + all GMs per quarter).

Must email proof if you have to miss GM.
