I would like to invite you to the most active and engaging part of our academic year, where you will be provided with more than ever volunteering and internship opportunities, health workshops, outreach events, and a chance to become the next leader of Hepatitis B in De Anza College as well as the national level, as we tackle our largest event of the quarter

But before all that, we will provide an exciting informational meeting this Friday, April 26th at 12:30pm at Room E35. We’ll have a lot of great information, fun icebreakers, and FOOD! So please join us!

For a sample of our activities and a chance to have fun, we will have our Club Day tomorrow, April 25th at the Main Quad, 11:30am – 1:30pm. It will be a great chance to meet our officers and make great friends, so I encourage you to join the Team. Welcome to the Team, I hope you join us in our amazing adventure this quarter

Our chapter collaborated with the hospital in the past to bring about more health screenings in the Santa Clara County. On March 9th, our chapter volunteered to register, provide information, and assist patients coming in for health screenings andeducation. Information booths were also offered in Mandarin and Cantonese. This holistic approach to outreach won the event great praise in the Asian American population.

If you are a performer and are interested in performing at our B Hep Free Concert during April or May of 2013, please reply back to our individual emails. If you did not get an email from us, please email ucla@teamhbv.org for more information about how you can participate.

The B Hep Free Concert is an annual event at UCLA, and includes education about the dangers of hepatitis B and liver cancer from medical speakers as well as entertainment from performances.

If you weren’t able to make it to our first training session, don’t fret! We will be having a make-up session on Monday! Hope to see you all there!

The event is both fun and serious, asking participants to perform one of three symbolic gestures: ‘See No Evil’ covering their eyes, ‘Hear No Evil’ covering their ears, or ‘Speak No Evil’ covering their mouths, to highlight that hepatitis B and C need greater attention and action around the world….”
