Documentary Screening: Across Qinghai

Host:

UC Davis

Date:

Thursday, October 7, 2010 – 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Location:

Olson Hall Rm 118

We had a screening and discussion of a short documentary: Across Qinghai , which is about the vaccination of 500,000 children in Qinghai Western China.

The film was produced by Asian Liver Center at Stanford in effort to spread the awareness of this devastating epidemic. Highlighting some of the facts depicted: over 90,000,000 million people in China are infected with Hepatitis B and each year, 500,000 people in China die from the liver cancer or liver failure it costs.

Essentially, the twenty minute documentary shows how Hep B affects people in the world and how simple vaccination can put an end to this human suffering!

FOR THOSE WHO COULDN’T MAKE IT TO THE DOCUMENTARY: if you would still like to view it on your own time, please go to: teamhbv.org (which if your reading this then you’re are already there) and on the homepage, click on the videos link under the Education tab!
