Francis Loh |Co-Chair

Francis is a senior at Harvard University studying Applied Mathematics, focusing in statistics. He became involved in HBV activism after discovering its effect on his extended family, and worked at Charles B. Wang Community Health Center Hepatitis B Department in summer 2014. This year, he hopes to work on streamlining Team HBV’s operations and expanding its reach to new chapters and cities. In his free time, Francis enjoys performing music (guitar/piano/singing), playing on the Club Tennis team, and working in the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter.

Gerry Zhang | Co-Chair

Gerry was the ALC Liason for the Team HBV advisory board and has been a part of the board for the past three years. He joined Team HBV while in college after taking a Decal about liver cancer and hepatitis B. Ever since, he has been actively involved in Team HBV and the collegiate board. This year he looks forward to working with the advisory board to create a Team HBV community. On his free time Gerry enjoys leisurely bike rides and spending the afternoon catching up with friends.

Vivi Tam | Outreach Advisor

Vivi is currently a pre-pharmacy major at University of the Pacific, and is part of the class 2017. She has had a long history with hepatits B, from losing a family member in the battle against it to advocating awareness for Team HBV starting in her sophomore year of high school. In her free time, she enjoys writing, nail art, interior design/fashion magazine perusing, and other nerdy things like video games. She hopes to smooth over the obstacles commonly faced by collegiate chapters from her Outreach position on the board this year.

Henry Li | Recruitment & Training Advisor

Henry is currently a junior at UC Berkeley studying microbiology, with a minor in energy and resources. He works as a physics and chemistry tutor at the student learning center and as a lab assistant at the USDA. Aside from studying, he likes to do Wushu, a form of chinese martial arts, and can be seen frequently performing for the Cal Wushu team. After being introduced to the Asian Liver Center by a friend in high school , Henry has worked with the ALC ever since through volunteering and recently serving as the VP of Recruitment and Tech at Berkeley’s Team HBV chapter in 2013-2014. He hopes to expand his efforts in eradicating Hepatitis B in any way he can.

Chris Zheng |Projects Advisor

Chris was the 2013-2014 Co-Chair, 2012-2013 Recruitment & Training Advisor, and former president of Team HBV at Cornell. He is currently a first year student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, with a bachelors of Biological Sciences from Cornell University. Having worked with Team HBV at Cornell since freshman year, Chris joined the National Advisory Board in the hope of making a greater impact on Hepatitis B awareness and eradication. After medical school, he hopes to specialize in surgical oncology.

Sam Njie Jr. | Projects Advisor

Sam is currently a junior at UC Berkeley studying Neurobiology with a minor in Computer Science. He was previously the Co-Chair in the 2014 Advisory Board along with Chris, and wanted to step into a more focused role where he can explore different avenues and work on projects to best promote the Jade Ribbon brand. After being raised in the Philippines, Sam saw the daunting prevalence of Hepatitis B in high-risk populations. This year, his goal is to address these issues with innovative ideas, a strong resolve for the cause, and a commitment to global awareness and social change. In his free time, Sam likes to play guitar and go hiking.
